Video surveillance of recording and editing was ordered via phone at 9am and approved by General Contractor on Scene.

Videographer arrived within 30 minutes.

Already On scene was General contractor, Architect, PSEG, Ambulance, Fire Department, Police Department, Rigging Company, Tow Truck, Demolition Crew, Electrician, and Plumber.

Initial Demolition and securitization of scene had already began but was stalled. Rigging extradition of vehicle was halted until the arrival of the Town’s Building Department Official.

Incident Description
The vehicle penetrated into a medical building. The vehicle landed on a medical code cart that free standing in an interior exam room with free standing oxygen tanks nearby. The rear of vehicle landed on the building’s foundation wall. This caused the vehicle to stand airborne above the existing floor.

Challenge

The de-rigging crew had to devise a system where the vehicle was removed horizontally without dropping or ever touching the floor. If the vehicle weight shifted or dropped to the floor, it would likely further penetrate into the basement and likely cause additional damage.

Comments
Building was likely built in the early 1980’s. Videography of any needed Building Code upgrades were not requested nor part of the video project.
